67 AN ACT
78 relating to a fishing license fee waiver for certain residents.
89 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
910 SECTION 1. Sections 46.004(b) and (c), Parks and Wildlife
1011 Code, are amended to read as follows:
1112 (b) The commission may establish a lower fee or waive the
1213 fee or license requirement for:
1314 (1) a resident who has a general commercial
1415 fisherman's license of this state;
1516 (2) a resident who is blind as defined by Section
1617 94.001, Human Resources Code;
1718 (3) a resident or nonresident who is under 17 years
1819 old; or
1920 (4) a [resident or] nonresident who is 65 years old or
2021 over.
2122 (c) The commission shall waive the fee for:
2223 (1) a qualified disabled veteran as defined by Section
2324 42.012 and for a resident on active duty as a member of the United
2425 States military forces, the Texas Army National Guard, the Texas
2526 Air National Guard, or the Texas State Guard; and
2627 (2) a resident who is 65 years old or over.
2728 SECTION 2. (a) The change in law made by this Act applies
2829 only to a fee charged for a fishing license issued on or after the
2930 effective date of this Act.
3031 (b) A fishing license issued before the effective date of
3132 this Act is covered by the law in effect when the license was
3233 issued, and the former law is continued in effect for that purpose.
3334 The Parks and Wildlife Department is not required to issue a refund
3435 for any license issued before the effective date of this Act.
3536 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
