97 relating to the appointment by certain elected officials of
108 students to receive a Texas Armed Services Scholarship.
119 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1210 SECTION 1. Section 61.9772(b), Education Code, is amended
1311 to read as follows:
1412 (b) In each year, the governor and the lieutenant governor
1513 may each appoint two students and each state senator and each state
1614 representative may appoint one student to receive an initial
1715 scholarship under this subchapter. If a student appointed under
1816 this subsection to receive a scholarship fails to maintain
1917 eligibility or otherwise meet the requirements to continue
2018 receiving the scholarship, the elected official who appointed the
2119 student may appoint another student eligible under this subchapter
2220 to receive any available funds designated for the student
2321 originally appointed.
2422 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
