| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Chapter 203, Election Code, is amended by adding | |
| 10 | 10 | Section 203.015 as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | Section 203.015. Reimbursement of Election Expenses. | |
| 12 | 12 | Within 90-days of a special election held under this chapter on a | |
| 13 | 13 | date other than a uniform election date, the secretary of state | |
| 14 | 14 | shall certify the expenses incurred by each county in the conduct of | |
| 15 | 15 | the election. The comptroller shall reimburse each county for its | |
| 16 | 16 | certified expenses from funds appropriated for that purpose. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 18 | 18 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 19 | 19 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 20 | 20 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 21 | 21 | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
