9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Chapter 4101, Insurance Code, is amended by | |
11 | 11 | adding Subchapter D-1 to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | SUBCHAPTER D-1. PROHIBITED CONDUCT | |
13 | 13 | Sec. 4101.171. UNAUTHORIZED VEHICLE REMOVAL OR INSPECTION | |
14 | 14 | PROHIBITED. A licensed adjuster may not, without the knowledge and | |
15 | 15 | written consent of the insured: | |
16 | 16 | (1) execute a document related to the removal or | |
17 | 17 | inspection of a motor vehicle located at a vehicle storage facility | |
18 | 18 | licensed under Chapter 2303, Occupations Code; or | |
19 | 19 | (2) remove a motor vehicle from such a vehicle storage | |
20 | 20 | facility. | |
21 | 21 | SECTION 2. Subchapter D-1, Chapter 4101, Insurance Code, as | |
22 | 22 | added by this Act, applies only to conduct that occurs on or after | |
23 | 23 | the effective date of this Act. | |
24 | 24 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
