11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 545.424, Transportation Code, is amended | |
13 | 13 | by adding Subsection (g) to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | (g) A court, if the court is located in a municipality or | |
15 | 15 | county that has established a community service program, shall | |
16 | 16 | allow a person who commits an offense under Subsection (a) or (b) to | |
17 | 17 | discharge all or part of the fine or costs associated with the | |
18 | 18 | offense by performing community service in the manner provided by | |
19 | 19 | Article 45.0492, Code of Criminal Procedure, as added by Chapters | |
20 | 20 | 227 (H.B. 350) and 777 (H.B. 1964), Acts of the 82nd Legislature, | |
21 | 21 | Regular Session, 2011, regardless of the age of the person at the | |
22 | 22 | time of the commission of the offense. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
