8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 102.006(a), Family Code, is amended to | |
10 | 10 | read as follows: | |
11 | 11 | (a) Except as provided by Subsection [Subsections] (b) [and | |
12 | 12 | (c)], if the parent-child relationship between the child and every | |
13 | 13 | living parent of the child has been terminated, an original suit may | |
14 | 14 | not be filed by: | |
15 | 15 | (1) a former parent whose parent-child relationship | |
16 | 16 | with the child has been terminated by court order; or | |
17 | 17 | (2) the father of the child[; or | |
18 | 18 | [(3) a family member or relative by blood, adoption, | |
19 | 19 | or marriage of either a former parent whose parent-child | |
20 | 20 | relationship has been terminated or of the father of the child]. | |
21 | 21 | SECTION 2. Section 102.006(c), Family Code, is repealed. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
