13 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

14 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Section 6.41, Tax Code, is amended by adding |
---|
15 | 13 | | Subsection (d-10) to read as follows: |
---|
16 | 14 | | (d-10) This subsection applies only to the board of an |
---|
17 | 15 | | appraisal district established in a county with a population of 3.3 |
---|
18 | 16 | | million or more. In making appointments to the board, the local |
---|
19 | 17 | | administrative district judge shall make every reasonable effort to |
---|
20 | 18 | | appoint enough individuals with the following qualifications so |
---|
21 | 19 | | that each board or panel hearing a protest that involves commercial |
---|
22 | 20 | | real property has at least one member who was during the two-year |
---|
23 | 21 | | period preceding the appointment: |
---|
24 | 22 | | (1) the owner of commercial real property; |
---|
25 | 23 | | (2) a licensed real estate broker or salesperson under |
---|
26 | 24 | | Chapter 1101, Occupations Code, with commercial real estate |
---|
27 | 25 | | experience; |
---|
28 | 26 | | (3) a state-licensed real estate appraiser under |
---|
29 | 27 | | Chapter 1103, Occupations Code, with commercial real estate |
---|
30 | 28 | | experience; or |
---|
31 | 29 | | (4) a property tax consultant registered under Chapter |
---|
32 | 30 | | 1152, Occupations Code, with commercial real estate experience. |

33 | 31 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
