97 relating to preferred qualifications for serving on an appraisal
108 review board or panel of the board that hears ad valorem tax
119 protests concerning commercial real property in certain appraisal
1210 districts.
1311 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1412 SECTION 1. Section 6.41, Tax Code, is amended by adding
1513 Subsection (d-10) to read as follows:
1614 (d-10) This subsection applies only to the board of an
1715 appraisal district established in a county with a population of 3.3
1816 million or more. In making appointments to the board, the local
1917 administrative district judge shall make every reasonable effort to
2018 appoint enough individuals with the following qualifications so
2119 that each board or panel hearing a protest that involves commercial
2220 real property has at least one member who was during the two-year
2321 period preceding the appointment:
2422 (1) the owner of commercial real property;
2523 (2) a licensed real estate broker or salesperson under
2624 Chapter 1101, Occupations Code, with commercial real estate
2725 experience;
2826 (3) a state-licensed real estate appraiser under
2927 Chapter 1103, Occupations Code, with commercial real estate
3028 experience; or
3129 (4) a property tax consultant registered under Chapter
3230 1152, Occupations Code, with commercial real estate experience.
3331 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
