| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 61.003(a), Election Code, is amended to |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (a) A person commits an offense if, during the voting period |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | [and within 100 feet of an outside door through which a voter may |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | enter the building in which a polling place is located], the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | person[: |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | [(1)] loiters[;] or |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | [(2)] electioneers for or against any candidate, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | measure, or political party within 100 feet of: |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (1) an outside door through which a voter may enter the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | building in which a polling place is located; or |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (2) a parking space for persons with disabilities that |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | serves the building and a designated travel path between the space |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and an outside door of the building. |

| 24 | 24 | | SECTION 2. Section 85.036(a), Election Code, is amended to |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | read as follows: |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | (a) During the time an early voting polling place is open |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | for the conduct of early voting, a person may not electioneer for or |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | against any candidate, measure, or political party in or within 100 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | feet of: |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | (1) an outside door through which a voter may enter the |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | building or structure in which the early voting polling place is |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | located; or |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | (2) a parking space for persons with disabilities that |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | serves the building or structure and a designated travel path |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | between the space and an outside door of the building or structure. |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
