| 8 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 65, Election Code, is |

| 10 | 10 | | amended by adding Section 65.061 to read as follows: |

| 11 | 11 | | Sec. 65.061. REGULATING PUBLIC INSPECTION OF PROVISIONAL |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | VOTING RECORDS. Provisional voting records do not become public |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | information until the first business day after the early voting |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | ballot board verifies and counts the ballots and returns them to the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | general custodian of election records. |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
