| 8 | 8 | | eligibility of persons with disabilities to use certain public |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | transportation services. |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Section 461.009, Transportation Code, is amended |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | (c) The department shall post on the department's Internet |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | website information regarding how an individual who is eligible to |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | use a provider's services may access another provider's services |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | when the individual visits the other provider's service area. The |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | website must identify each provider's service area and provide |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | contact information for each provider. |

| 19 | 19 | | SECTION 2. Chapter 461, Transportation Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | adding Section 461.010 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Sec. 461.010. DATABASE OF PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SERVICES |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. (a) In this section, "provider" and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | "services" have the meanings assigned by Section 461.009. |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (b) The department shall establish a database of all |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | individuals who are eligible to use a provider's services in this |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | state and authorize each provider in the state to access the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | database. Each provider in the state must maintain data in the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | database identifying each individual who resides in the provider's |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | service area and who is eligible to use the provider's services. |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
