66 AN ACT
77 relating to intervention by a foster parent in a suit affecting the
88 parent-child relationship.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Chapter 102, Family Code, is amended by adding
1111 Section 102.0031 to read as follows:
1212 Sec. 102.0031. INTERVENTION BY FOSTER PARENT. A court may
1313 not grant a foster parent of a child placed in the foster parent's
1414 home by the Department of Family and Protective Services leave to
1515 intervene in a pending suit that involves the child unless the child
1616 has been in the foster parent's home for at least 12 months.
1717 SECTION 2. Section 102.0031, Family Code, as added by this
1818 Act, applies only to a motion to intervene pending on or filed on or
1919 after the effective date of this Act.
2020 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
