66 relating to the awarding of attorney's fees in election contest

88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Section 231.002, Election Code, is amended to
1010 read as follows:
1111 (a) Sec. 231.002. APPLICABILITY OF RULES GOVERNING CIVIL
1212 SUITS. Except as otherwise provided by this subtitle, the rules
1313 governing civil suits in the district court apply to an election
1414 contest in the district court, specifically the awarding of
1515 attorney's fees and costs of suit as per the governing rules of
1616 civil suits in district court.
1717 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1818 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
1919 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2020 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2121 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
