| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 25.0522, Government Code, is amended by | |
| 10 | 10 | adding Subsection (j) to read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | (j) If a jury trial is requested in a case that is in a | |
| 12 | 12 | county court at law's jurisdiction, the jury shall be composed of 6 | |
| 13 | 13 | members unless the constitution requires a 12-member jury. Failure | |
| 14 | 14 | to object before a 6-member jury is seated and sworn constitutes a | |
| 15 | 15 | waiver of a 12-member jury. | |
| 16 | 16 | SECTION 2. Section 25.0522(h), Government Code, is | |
| 17 | 17 | repealed. | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
