| 7 | 7 | | relating to qualifications of members of the board of directors of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | the Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District. |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 6(h), Chapter 1321, Acts of the 77th |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Legislature, Regular Session, 2001, is repealed. |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 2. (a) Any act or proceeding of the district, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | including an election, not excepted by this section and taken |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | before the effective date of this Act, is validated and confirmed in |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | all respects. |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (b) This section does not apply to: |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (1) an act, proceeding, director, other official, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | bond, or other obligation the validity of which or of whom is the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | subject of litigation that is pending on the effective date of this |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Act; or |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (2) an act or proceeding that, under a statute of this |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | state or the United States, was a misdemeanor or felony at the time |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | the act or proceeding occurred. |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | SECTION 3. (a) The legal notice of the intention to |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | introduce this Act, setting forth the general substance of this |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Act, has been published as provided by law, and the notice and a |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | copy of this Act have been furnished to all persons, agencies, |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | officials, or entities to which they are required to be furnished |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | under Section 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution, and Chapter 313, |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Government Code. |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | (b) The governor, one of the required recipients, has |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | submitted the notice and Act to the Texas Commission on |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Environmental Quality. |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | (c) The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has filed |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | its recommendations relating to this Act with the governor, the |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | lieutenant governor, and the speaker of the house of |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | representatives within the required time. |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | (d) All requirements of the constitution and laws of this |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | state and the rules and procedures of the legislature with respect |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | to the notice, introduction, and passage of this Act are fulfilled |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | and accomplished. |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
