| 14 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 15 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Section 437.202, Government Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 16 | 9 | | adding Subsections (e) and (f) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 17 | 10 | | (e) This state, a municipality, a county, or another |
|---|
| 18 | 11 | | political subdivision of this state shall provide written notice of |
|---|
| 19 | 12 | | the number of workdays of paid leave to which an officer or employee |
|---|
| 20 | 13 | | described by Subsection (a) is entitled each fiscal year under |
|---|
| 21 | 14 | | Subsection (a) and, if applicable, the number of workdays of paid |
|---|
| 22 | 15 | | leave to which an officer or employee described by Subsection (a) is |
|---|
| 23 | 16 | | entitled to carry forward each fiscal year under Subsection (b): |
|---|
| 24 | 17 | | (1) on employment, in the case of an employee; or |
|---|
| 25 | 18 | | (2) as soon as practicable after appointment or |
|---|
| 26 | 19 | | election, in the case of an officer. |
|---|
| 27 | 20 | | (f) This state, a municipality, a county, or another |
|---|
| 28 | 21 | | political subdivision of this state shall, on the request of an |
|---|
| 29 | 22 | | officer or employee described by Subsection (a), provide to that |
|---|
| 30 | 23 | | officer or employee a statement that contains: |
|---|
| 31 | 24 | | (1) the number of workdays for which the officer or |
|---|
| 32 | 25 | | employee claimed paid leave under Subsection (a) in that fiscal |
|---|
| 33 | 26 | | year; and |
|---|
| 34 | 27 | | (2) if the statement is provided to an officer or |
|---|
| 35 | 28 | | employee of this state: |
|---|
| 36 | 29 | | (A) the net balance of unused accumulated leave |
|---|
| 37 | 30 | | under Subsection (a) for that fiscal year that the officer or |
|---|
| 38 | 31 | | employee is entitled to carry forward to the next fiscal year; and |
|---|
| 39 | 32 | | (B) the net balance of all unused accumulated |
|---|
| 40 | 33 | | leave under this section to which the officer or employee is |
|---|
| 41 | 34 | | entitled. |

| 42 | 35 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
