55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to the use of the Texas Enterprise Fund for veterans
88 hospitals.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 481.078, Government Code, is amended by
1111 amending Subsection (c) and adding Subsection (d-2) to read as
1212 follows:
1313 (c) Except as provided by Subsections (d), [and] (d-1), and
1414 (d-2), the fund may be used only for economic development,
1515 infrastructure development, community development, job training
1616 programs, and business incentives.
1717 (d-2) The fund may be used for the establishment,
1818 maintenance, or operation of veterans hospitals in this state.
1919 Subsections (e-1), (f), (f-1), (f-2), (g), (h), (h-1), (i), and (j)
2020 and Section 481.080 do not apply to a grant awarded for a purpose
2121 specified by this subsection.
2222 SECTION 2. Section 481.079(a-1), Government Code, is
2323 amended to read as follows:
2424 (a-1) For grants awarded for a purpose specified by Section
2525 481.078(d-1) or (d-2), the report must include only the amount and
2626 purpose of each grant.
2727 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2828 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2929 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3030 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3131 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
