66 AN ACT
77 relating to the collection of certain judgments through court
88 proceeding.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 31.002(a), Civil Practice and Remedies
1111 Code, is amended to read as follows:
1212 (a) A judgment creditor is entitled to aid from a court of
1313 appropriate jurisdiction through injunction or other means in order
1414 to reach property to obtain satisfaction on the judgment if the
1515 judgment debtor owns property, including present or future rights
1616 to property, that[:
1717 [(1) cannot readily be attached or levied on by
1818 ordinary legal process; and
1919 [(2)] is not exempt from attachment, execution, or
2020 seizure for the satisfaction of liabilities.
2121 SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies to the
2222 collection of any judgment, regardless of whether the judgment was
2323 entered before, on, or after the effective date of this Act.
2424 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2525 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2626 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2727 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2828 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
