86 AN ACT
97 relating to the waiver of state park, museum, and other
108 state-operated facility entrance fees for persons with certain
119 disabilities.
1210 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1311 SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 442, Government Code, is
1412 amended by adding Section 442.030 to read as follows:
1513 Sec. 442.030. FEES WAIVED FOR PERSONS WITH CERTAIN
1614 DISABILITIES. (a) The commission shall waive the individual
1715 entrance fees or any vehicle entrance fee to museums and other
1816 facilities under the control of the commission for a person with a
1917 physical, mental, intellectual, or developmental disability and a
2018 paid personal attendant present to assist that person.
2119 (b) The commission, in consultation with the Health and
2220 Human Services Commission, shall by rule establish eligibility
2321 requirements and procedures to implement this section.
2422 SECTION 2. Subchapter A, Chapter 13, Parks and Wildlife
2523 Code, is amended by adding Section 13.023 to read as follows:
2624 Sec. 13.023. FEES WAIVED FOR PERSONS WITH CERTAIN
2725 DISABILITIES. (a) The department shall waive the individual
2826 entrance fees or any vehicle entrance fee to state parks,
2927 recreational areas, and other facilities under the control of the
3028 department for a person with a physical, mental, intellectual, or
3129 developmental disability and a paid personal attendant present to
3230 assist that person.
3331 (b) The commission, in consultation with the Health and
3432 Human Services Commission, shall by rule establish eligibility
3533 requirements and procedures to implement this section.
3634 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
