| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 39, Education Code, is | |
| 11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 39.0531 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 39.0531. STUDENTS EVALUATED FOR PURPOSES OF | |
| 13 | 13 | ACCOUNTABILITY RATINGS. Notwithstanding any other law, for | |
| 14 | 14 | purposes of evaluating school district and campus performance under | |
| 15 | 15 | Section 39.053(c), only the performance of African American males | |
| 16 | 16 | may be considered. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. This section applies beginning with the | |
| 18 | 18 | 2015-2016 school year. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 20 | 20 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 21 | 21 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 22 | 22 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 23 | 23 | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
