The bill would amend the Election Code to allow for the use of certain devices while occupying a voting station. The Secretary of State indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of each house; if not, it will take effect on September 1, 2015.
