The bill would amend the Transportation Code to require the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) by rule to establish a program to collect information about the number of alternatively fueled vehicles registered in the state. The bill would require the DMV to submit to the Legislature an annual report on the number of registered alternatively fueled vehicles by fuel type.Based on the information provided by the DMV, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
