115 relating to the collection of information regarding the number of
126 alternatively fueled vehicles registered in this state.
137 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
148 SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 502, Transportation Code,
159 is amended by adding Section 502.004 to read as follows:
1610 Sec. 502.004. INFORMATION ON ALTERNATIVELY FUELED
1711 VEHICLES. (a) In this section, "alternatively fueled vehicle"
1812 means a motor vehicle that is capable of using a fuel other than
1913 gasoline or diesel fuel.
2014 (b) The department by rule shall establish a program to
2115 collect information about the number of alternatively fueled
2216 vehicles registered in this state.
2317 (c) The department shall submit an annual report to the
2418 legislature that includes the information collected under this
2519 section. The report must, at a minimum, show the number of vehicles
2620 registered in this state that use:
2721 (1) electric plug-in drives;
2822 (2) hybrid electric drives;
2923 (3) compressed natural gas drives; and
3024 (4) liquefied natural gas drives.
3125 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2016.
