55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to medical assistance reimbursement for certain health
88 care services provided by a chiropractor.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 32.024, Human Resources Code, is amended
1111 by adding Subsection (kk) to read as follows:
1212 (kk) The department shall provide medical assistance
1313 reimbursement to a chiropractor participating in the medical
1414 assistance program for the provision of a health care service to a
1515 recipient of medical assistance if:
1616 (1) the chiropractor is licensed to practice
1717 chiropractic in this state;
1818 (2) the chiropractor is authorized to provide the
1919 service as part of the practice of chiropractic; and
2020 (3) the service is otherwise covered under the medical
2121 assistance program.
2222 SECTION 2. If before implementing any provision of this Act
2323 a state agency determines that a waiver or authorization from a
2424 federal agency is necessary for implementation of that provision,
2525 the agency affected by the provision shall request the waiver or
2626 authorization and may delay implementing that provision until the
2727 waiver or authorization is granted.
2828 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
