7 | 7 | relating to medical assistance reimbursement for certain health | |
8 | 8 | care services provided by a chiropractor. | |
9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 32.024, Human Resources Code, is amended | |
11 | 11 | by adding Subsection (kk) to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (kk) The department shall provide medical assistance | |
13 | 13 | reimbursement to a chiropractor participating in the medical | |
14 | 14 | assistance program for the provision of a health care service to a | |
15 | 15 | recipient of medical assistance if: | |
16 | 16 | (1) the chiropractor is licensed to practice | |
17 | 17 | chiropractic in this state; | |
18 | 18 | (2) the chiropractor is authorized to provide the | |
19 | 19 | service as part of the practice of chiropractic; and | |
20 | 20 | (3) the service is otherwise covered under the medical | |
21 | 21 | assistance program. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 2. If before implementing any provision of this Act | |
23 | 23 | a state agency determines that a waiver or authorization from a | |
24 | 24 | federal agency is necessary for implementation of that provision, | |
25 | 25 | the agency affected by the provision shall request the waiver or | |
26 | 26 | authorization and may delay implementing that provision until the | |
27 | 27 | waiver or authorization is granted. | |
28 | 28 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
