| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 31, Education Code, is |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | amended by adding Section 31.0222 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Sec. 31.0222. REVIEW OF COMPLIANCE WITH ACCESSIBILITY |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | STANDARDS. (a) In addition to any review of the content and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | factual accuracy of submitted instructional materials required by |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | this chapter, the State Board of Education or the commissioner, as |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | applicable, shall ensure that a separate review is performed of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | instructional materials designed to be delivered electronically to |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | verify that the materials comply with applicable accessibility |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | standards, including the technical standards of Section 508, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (29 U.S.C. Section 794d). |

| 21 | 21 | | (b) The results of the review required by this section must |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | be provided in conjunction with the results of the review of the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | content and factual accuracy. |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | SECTION 2. Section 31.0222, Education Code, as added by |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | this Act, applies only to instructional materials submitted to the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | State Board of Education or commissioner of education for review on |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | or after the effective date of this Act. |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
