9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 172, Election Code, is | |
11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 172.0861 to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 172.0861. ADDITIONAL BALLOT INFORMATION FOR JUDICIAL | |
13 | 13 | CANDIDATES. (a) This section applies only to a judicial office | |
14 | 14 | that appears on the primary or runoff primary election ballot. This | |
15 | 15 | section does not apply to a constitutional county judge. | |
16 | 16 | (b) A candidate for a judicial office who is the incumbent | |
17 | 17 | for the office may request that the ballot indicate the candidate's | |
18 | 18 | incumbency adjacent to the candidate's name. | |
19 | 19 | (c) The secretary of state shall prescribe the method and | |
20 | 20 | manner for including the information described by this section on | |
21 | 21 | the ballot. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
