                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 27, 2015      TO: Honorable Jodie Laubenberg, Chair, House Committee on Elections      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HJR108 by Reynolds (Proposing a constitutional amendment prohibiting a county or other political subdivision from eliminating offices or changing district boundaries between the primary and general elections.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated, other than the cost of publication. The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $118,681.  The resolution would propose an amendment to the Texas Constitution to prohibit certain political subdivisions from abolishing an office of the political subdivision or changing the boundaries of a district from which an officer is elected during the period beginning on the general primary day and ending the following general election day. The proposed constitutional amendment would be submitted to voters at a election held on November 3, 2015.
