| 11 | 11 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Article VI, Texas Constitution, is amended by |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | adding Section 7 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Sec. 7. During the period beginning on the general primary |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | election day and ending on the following general election day, a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | county or any political subdivision of this state whose officers |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | are selected from candidates nominated at a primary election may |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | not, unless ordered to by a court: |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (1) abolish an office of the county or other political |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | subdivision; or |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (2) change the boundaries of a district from which an |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | officer of the county or other political subdivision is elected. |

| 23 | 23 | | SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 3, 2015. |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | The ballot shall be printed to provide for voting for or against the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | proposition: "The constitutional amendment prohibiting a county or |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | other political subdivision from eliminating offices or changing |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | district boundaries between the primary and general elections." |
