55 A JOINT RESOLUTION
66 proposing a constitutional amendment authorizing the legislature
77 to exempt from ad valorem taxation by one or more political
88 subdivisions tangible personal property used by the owner of the
99 property to manufacture, process, or fabricate tangible personal
1010 property for ultimate sale.
1111 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Article VIII, Texas Constitution, is amended by
1313 adding Section 1-t to read as follows:
1414 Sec. 1-t. (a) The legislature by general law may exempt
1515 from ad valorem taxation by one or more political subdivisions
1616 tangible personal property used by the owner of the property to
1717 manufacture, process, or fabricate tangible personal property for
1818 ultimate sale.
1919 (b) The legislature by general law may provide additional
2020 eligibility requirements for an exemption authorized by this
2121 section.
2222 SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
2323 submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 3, 2015.
2424 The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
2525 proposition: "The constitutional amendment authorizing the
2626 legislature to exempt from ad valorem taxation by one or more
2727 political subdivisions tangible personal property used by the owner
2828 of the property to manufacture, process, or fabricate tangible
2929 personal property for ultimate sale."
