55 A JOINT RESOLUTION
66 proposing a constitutional amendment to remove legislative

88 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Section 23, Article I, Texas Constitution, is
1010 amended to read as follows:
1111 Sec. 23. Every citizen shall have the right to keep and bear
1212 arms in the lawful defense of himself or the State[; but the
1313 Legislature shall have power, by law, to regulate the wearing of
1414 arms, with a view to prevent crime].
1515 SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
1616 submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 3, 2015.
1717 The ballot shall be printed to provide for voting for or against the
1818 proposition: "The constitutional amendment removing the state
1919 constitutional authority of the legislature to regulate the wearing
2020 of arms."
