| 10 | 10 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Article I, Texas Constitution, is amended by |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | adding Section 34 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Sec. 34. (a) The people have the right to hunt, fish, and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | harvest wildlife, including by the use of traditional methods, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | subject to laws or regulations to conserve and manage wildlife and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | preserve the future of hunting and fishing. |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (b) Hunting and fishing are preferred methods of managing |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and controlling wildlife. |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (c) This section does not affect any provision of law |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | relating to trespass, property rights, or eminent domain. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (d) This section does not affect the power of the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Legislature to authorize municipalities to regulate the discharge |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | of weapons in populated areas in the interests of public safety. |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 3, 2015. |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | proposition: "The constitutional amendment recognizing the right |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | of the people to hunt, fish, and harvest wildlife subject to laws |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | that promote wildlife conservation." |
