| 10 | 10 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Section 30(b), Article XVI, Texas Constitution, |

| 12 | 12 | | is amended to read as follows: |

| 13 | 13 | | (b) The Texas Energy [When a Railroad] Commission [is |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | created by law it] shall be composed of three Commissioners who |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | shall be elected by the people at a general election for State |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | officers, and their terms of office shall be six years. And one |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | [Railroad] Commissioner shall be elected every two years. In case |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | of vacancy in said office the Governor of the State shall fill said |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | vacancy by appointment until the next general election. |

| 20 | 20 | | SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be |

| 21 | 21 | | submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 8, 2016. |

| 22 | 22 | | The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the |

| 23 | 23 | | proposition: "The constitutional amendment to change the name of |

| 24 | 24 | | the Railroad Commission of Texas to the Texas Energy Commission." |
