45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Allyson Ford Jones has made a positive difference in
67 the lives of area children in need by serving as a Court Appointed
78 Special Advocate volunteer; and
89 WHEREAS, CASA is a nonprofit organization that relies on
910 trained volunteers to act as representatives for children who are
1011 removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect; through the
1112 program, advocates are assigned to gather information and make
1213 recommendations that assist judges in reaching decisions that serve
1314 the best interests of each child; and
1415 WHEREAS, The dedicated men and women of CASA provide children
1516 with a crucial voice in the often overburdened judicial and
1617 protective services systems and ensure that they receive the
1718 attention they need until they are placed in a permanent home; in
1819 many cases, advocates offer a rare source of stability to young
1920 people coping with a traumatic and uncertain time in their lives;
2021 and
2122 WHEREAS, The safety and well-being of children are of deep
2223 concern to all citizens, and by devoting considerable time and
2324 effort to fulfill a critical need in the community, Allyson Ford
2425 Jones has set an admirable example to which others may aspire; now,
2526 therefore, be it
2627 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2728 Legislature hereby commend Allyson Ford Jones for serving as a
2829 Court Appointed Special Advocate volunteer and extend to this
2930 caring Texan sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
3031 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3132 prepared for Allyson Ford Jones as an expression of high regard by
3233 the Texas House of Representatives.
