| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Eunice Ballesteros has made a positive difference in |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, CASA is a nonprofit organization that relies on |

| 9 | 10 | | trained volunteers to act as representatives for children who are |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect; through the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | program, advocates are assigned to gather information and make |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | recommendations that assist judges in reaching decisions that serve |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | the best interests of each child; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The dedicated men and women of CASA provide children |

| 15 | 16 | | with a crucial voice in the often overburdened judicial and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | protective services systems and ensure that they receive the |

| 17 | 18 | | attention they need until they are placed in a permanent home; in |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | many cases, advocates offer a rare source of stability to young |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | people coping with a traumatic and uncertain time in their lives; |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, The safety and well-being of children are of deep |

| 22 | 23 | | concern to all citizens, and by devoting considerable time and |

| 23 | 24 | | effort to fulfill a critical need in the community, Eunice |

| 24 | 25 | | Ballesteros has set an admirable example to which others may |
