| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Born on August 23, 1921, in Rogers, Arkansas, |

| 10 | 11 | | Dorothy Murphy was a caring mother, grandmother, and |

| 11 | 12 | | great-grandmother whose love, faith, courage, compassion, |

| 12 | 13 | | sacrifice, patriotism, and spirited humor inspired many across the |

| 13 | 14 | | state; she was especially well known and admired in the communities |

| 14 | 15 | | of Wimberley, Beaumont, Silsbee, Houston, Austin, Georgetown, |

| 15 | 16 | | Fulshear, and Wylie, where she resided over the course of her life; |

| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Affectionately known as "Meema," she is remembered |

| 18 | 19 | | for her dedication to family, artistic talent, skills as an office |

| 19 | 20 | | manager, activities with the Altar Guild, and service as a |

| 20 | 21 | | Eucharistic minister at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wimberley, |

| 21 | 22 | | where she and her husband, the late Richard Aloysius Murphy, |

| 22 | 23 | | devoted much time and support; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Murphy radiated the finest virtues of |

| 24 | 25 | | selfless care and concern for others through her consistent |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | guidance, tender words of compassion, unconditional love for |

| 26 | 27 | | family, and heartfelt gratitude for her many blessings; now, |

| 28 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 29 | 30 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Dorothy Maude |
