45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
67 passing of John J. Lewis of Violet on February 23, 2015, at the age
78 of 76; and
89 WHEREAS, The son of David and Sylvie Lewis, John Lewis was
910 born in Sinton on August 10, 1938; a longtime resident of Violet, he
1011 made his living as a farmer in the Violet and Robstown communities
1112 for five decades; and
1213 WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan often delighted in the company
1314 of his loved ones and friends, and he was the proud father of a son,
1415 David; and
1516 WHEREAS, John Lewis led a life that was rich in the
1617 intangibles that matter most, and although he is deeply missed, he
1718 will forever be remembered with admiration and affection by all
1819 those who were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it
1920 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2021 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of John J. Lewis and
2122 extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his son,
2223 David Lewis; to his brothers, Tommy and Billy Mazza; and to his
2324 other relatives and friends; and, be it further
2425 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2526 prepared for the family and that when the Texas House of
2627 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of John J.
2728 Lewis.
