| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Sandy Weems was born on October 7, 1954, in San |

| 9 | 10 | | Antonio; she shared a rewarding relationship with her husband, |

| 10 | 11 | | David Morpurgo, and was the loving mother of three children, Tonya, |

| 11 | 12 | | Jeremy, and Jeffrey; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, A resident of Corpus Christi for much of her life, |

| 13 | 14 | | she and her husband owned and operated Backstreet Burgers, where |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | she was known to many for her kindness and sense of humor; in |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | addition to spending time with her family, she took pleasure in her |

| 16 | 17 | | dogs and enjoyed painting, drawing, cooking, gardening, and |

| 17 | 18 | | cheering on the Dallas Cowboys; and |

| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Sandy Weems |

| 19 | 20 | | will remember the way she touched their lives during her time on |

| 20 | 21 | | this earth, and she will forever hold a treasured place in their |

| 21 | 22 | | hearts; now, therefore, be it |

| 22 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 23 | 24 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Sandra Kay Weems and |

| 24 | 25 | | extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her |
