| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Ward Roddam was named Firefighter of the Year by the |

| 7 | 8 | | prestigious honor reflects the high esteem in which he is held by |

| 8 | 9 | | his peers; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Presented during the annual police officer and |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | firefighter appreciation event at the Rockdale Knights of Columbus |

| 11 | 12 | | Hall, the winner of the Firefighter of the Year accolade is selected |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | from a pool of worthy candidates by members of the RVFD; and |

| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Roddam has worked diligently in behalf of his |

| 14 | 15 | | department and his fellow citizens for more than a quarter-century, |

| 15 | 16 | | and he currently leads the RVFD as fire chief; and |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Chief Roddam has earned the respect and admiration |

| 17 | 18 | | of many for his dedication, professionalism, and commitment to |

| 18 | 19 | | public safety, and he may indeed take pride in his outstanding |

| 19 | 20 | | contributions to the city of Rockdale; now, therefore, be it |
