H.R. No. 1178
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Jody Tillery was named Officer of the Year by the
Rockdale Police Department on February 21, 2015, in recognition of
his outstanding service; and
WHEREAS, Presented during the annual police officer and
firefighter appreciation event at the Rockdale Knights of Columbus
Hall, the Officer of the Year award is based on points officers
compile over the course of carrying out their duties; Officer
Tillery earned the highest number of points by issuing citations
and warnings and making warrant, felony, and drug arrests; and
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, this esteemed public servant
enjoys the love and support of a fine family that includes his wife,
Laura, and his daughter, Taytum; and
WHEREAS, Officer Tillery's skill, professionalism, and
commitment to the safety and welfare of the public have greatly
benefited the citizens of Rockdale and garnered him the respect and
admiration of his fellow officers, and he may indeed take great
pride in this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Jody Tillery on being named Officer
of the Year by the Rockdale Police Department and extend to him
sincere best wishes for continued success with his important work;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Officer Tillery as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
