R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Leona Williams was named the Senior Citizen of the
Year at the Burnet Chamber of Commerce annual awards banquet on
February 7, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the Burnet chamber recognizes
individuals and businesses for their outstanding achievements and
for their efforts to benefit the local community; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Williams is a former teacher and principal at
Burnet Elementary School; at the age of 93, she continues to work
part-time at the local Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, where she is a
bright and comforting presence for families who have lost loved
ones; and
WHEREAS, Through her exceptional contributions, Leona
Williams has furthered Burnet's reputation as a great place to
live, work, and raise a family, and she is indeed deserving of this
notable honor; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Leona Williams on her selection as
the Senior Citizen of the Year by the Burnet Chamber of Commerce and
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Williams as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
