| 7 | 8 | | Recognition Month in January 2015 provides a welcome opportunity to |

| 8 | 9 | | honor the trustees of the Hidalgo Independent School District; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Hidalgo ISD encompasses seven schools and serves a |

| 10 | 11 | | student population of more than 3,200; the seven school board |

| 11 | 12 | | members who oversee this district work closely with superintendent |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Edward Blaha, as well as with parents, teachers, and community |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | leaders to ensure an optimal learning environment for all students; |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The board is ably led by president Raymundo |

| 16 | 17 | | Martinez, vice president Blanca Lara, secretary Benjamin Arjona, |

| 17 | 18 | | and treasurer Rodolfo F. Franz; other members include Carlos |

| 18 | 19 | | Cardoza Sr., Yesenia Ayala, and Norma Garza-Torres; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Each of these notable Texans demonstrates an |

| 20 | 21 | | exemplary commitment to area students, and through their vision and |

| 21 | 22 | | leadership, they are contributing immeasurably to the future of the |

| 22 | 23 | | Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 24 | 25 | | Legislature hereby honor the members of the Hidalgo Independent |
