H.R. No. 1199 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The members of the Woodworkers Club of El Paso have made a positive difference in the community, and their efforts are indeed deserving of recognition; and WHEREAS, Founded in 1985, the Woodworkers Club of El Paso is a nonprofit organization that promotes the instruction and improvement of woodworking skills in El Paso County through classes, public demonstrations, and one-on-one interaction; club members contribute their time and talents in support of a wide range of worthwhile organizations and causes in the area, including the Boy Scouts of America, the Girl Scouts of America, Toys for Tots, the Ronald McDonald House, the Child Crisis Center, and Operation Santa Claus; and WHEREAS, The group's recent charitable endeavors also include its work with the Little Free Library initiative, a book exchange program that encourages literacy in El Paso County; volunteers from the Woodworkers Club have designed and constructed more than 75 Little Free Library boxes for placement in Vinton and other parts of the greater El Paso area, enabling participants to share and borrow books; and WHEREAS, Through their passion for the craft of woodworking, the members of the El Paso Woodworkers Club have greatly benefited their fellow citizens, and all those associated with the organization may take justifiable pride in their many accomplishments; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby honor the Woodworkers Club of El Paso and extend to the club's members sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the club as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
