H.R. No. 1203
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Darrell and Janie Allen
celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on January 4,
2015; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Allen were joined in matrimony on that
special day in 1965; through the years, they have been blessed with
a treasured family that includes their three children, as well as
their six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Allen is
retired from his work with Alcon Laboratories and Mrs. Allen has
enjoyed a successful career as a social worker; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Allen have enjoyed five decades of
abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Darrell and Janie Allen on their
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
