| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Honorable Diana Bautista of Pleasanton retired |

| 6 | 7 | | as county judge of Atascosa County on December 31, 2014, after more |

| 7 | 8 | | than a decade of exemplary service to her fellow citizens; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Elected county judge in 2002, Diana Bautista ably |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | managed the county budget, presided over both the county and |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | juvenile courts, and oversaw the renovation of the Atascosa County |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | courthouse; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Judge Bautista has long worked for the betterment of |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | her community; over the course of her career in public service, she |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | served as a county clerk, as a secretary for the jail administrator, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | and as an Atascosa County sheriff's deputy, and she also earned the |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | distinction of becoming the first female officer of the Pleasanton |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Police Department; moreover, she has given generously of her time |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | and talents as a member of the Atascosa County Historical |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Commission and many other boards and committees; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, A committed advocate for her community, Diana |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Bautista may reflect with pride on all that she has accomplished in |

| 22 | 23 | | its behalf, and her contributions will continue to benefit area |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Texans for years to come; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 25 | 26 | | Legislature hereby commend the Honorable Diana Bautista for her |

| 26 | 27 | | exceptional service as county judge of Atascosa County and extend |

| 27 | 28 | | to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
