45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, The Honorable Diana Bautista of Pleasanton retired
67 as county judge of Atascosa County on December 31, 2014, after more
78 than a decade of exemplary service to her fellow citizens; and
89 WHEREAS, Elected county judge in 2002, Diana Bautista ably
910 managed the county budget, presided over both the county and
1011 juvenile courts, and oversaw the renovation of the Atascosa County
1112 courthouse; and
1213 WHEREAS, Judge Bautista has long worked for the betterment of
1314 her community; over the course of her career in public service, she
1415 served as a county clerk, as a secretary for the jail administrator,
1516 and as an Atascosa County sheriff's deputy, and she also earned the
1617 distinction of becoming the first female officer of the Pleasanton
1718 Police Department; moreover, she has given generously of her time
1819 and talents as a member of the Atascosa County Historical
1920 Commission and many other boards and committees; and
2021 WHEREAS, A committed advocate for her community, Diana
2122 Bautista may reflect with pride on all that she has accomplished in
2223 its behalf, and her contributions will continue to benefit area
2324 Texans for years to come; now, therefore, be it
2425 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2526 Legislature hereby commend the Honorable Diana Bautista for her
2627 exceptional service as county judge of Atascosa County and extend
2728 to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
2829 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2930 prepared for Judge Bautista as an expression of high regard by the
3031 Texas House of Representatives.
