H.R. No. 1209 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The retirement of assistant attorney general John Patrick Giberson of Buda on March 31, 2015, provides a fitting opportunity to honor him for his 25 years of service to the State of Texas; and WHEREAS, A native of Buda, John Giberson graduated from Texas State University in 1983 and went on to earn his law degree from the South Texas College of Law in 1987; he was admitted to the State Bar of Texas the following year, and he received board certification in personal injury trial law in 1993 from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization; and WHEREAS, Mr. Giberson spent the first years of his legal career in private practice, and in 1990, he began serving the people of Texas as an assistant attorney general; meeting the responsibilities of that role with dedication and skill, he has handled over 75 jury trials as lead counsel, prepared briefs in more than 40 appellate cases, and presented oral arguments before the majority of the courts of appeals in the state; and WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Giberson has enjoyed the love and support of his wife, Angela, and their children, Jordan, Chloe, and Jack; and WHEREAS, With his imminent retirement, John Giberson may reflect with pride on his exemplary career with the Office of the Attorney General of Texas and know that he has earned the deepest respect and gratitude of his clients and peers; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby commend John Patrick Giberson for his years of service to our state and congratulate him on his retirement from the position of assistant attorney general; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Giberson as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
