| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The retirement of assistant attorney general John |

| 6 | 7 | | Patrick Giberson of Buda on March 31, 2015, provides a fitting |

| 7 | 8 | | opportunity to honor him for his 25 years of service to the State of |

| 8 | 9 | | Texas; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, A native of Buda, John Giberson graduated from Texas |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | State University in 1983 and went on to earn his law degree from the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | South Texas College of Law in 1987; he was admitted to the State Bar |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | of Texas the following year, and he received board certification in |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | personal injury trial law in 1993 from the Texas Board of Legal |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Specialization; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Giberson spent the first years of his legal |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | career in private practice, and in 1990, he began serving the people |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | of Texas as an assistant attorney general; meeting the |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | responsibilities of that role with dedication and skill, he has |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | handled over 75 jury trials as lead counsel, prepared briefs in more |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | than 40 appellate cases, and presented oral arguments before the |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | majority of the courts of appeals in the state; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Giberson has enjoyed the |

| 23 | 24 | | love and support of his wife, Angela, and their children, Jordan, |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | Chloe, and Jack; and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, With his imminent retirement, John Giberson may |

| 26 | 27 | | reflect with pride on his exemplary career with the Office of the |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | Attorney General of Texas and know that he has earned the deepest |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | respect and gratitude of his clients and peers; now, therefore, be |
