H.R. No. 1253
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Captain Dana Lechner has been named the 2015
Firefighter of the Year by the Corpus Christi Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, Captain Lechner joined the Corpus Christi Fire
Department in 1990, and throughout his 25-year tenure, he has
demonstrated exemplary leadership skills and an exceptional
commitment to his fellow firefighters and to his work in the
community; and
WHEREAS, Currently assigned to Engine 3 at the Morgan Avenue
Rescue Station, Captain Lechner has furthered the department's
vital mission of protecting lives and property in an urban center
that covers some 170 square miles; as Firefighter of the Year, he
serves as a role model to others, and he will represent the
department at city events throughout 2015; and
WHEREAS, Every hour of every day, the first responders of
Texas stand ready to come to the aid of citizens in need; Captain
Dana Lechner's courage, dedication, and initiative have greatly
benefited the people of Corpus Christi and earned him the profound
respect and admiration of his peers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Captain Dana Lechner on being named
the 2015 Firefighter of the Year by the Corpus Christi Fire
Department and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Captain Lechner as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
