| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce is celebrating |

| 6 | 7 | | its 30th anniversary in 2015, and this milestone provides a welcome |

| 7 | 8 | | opportunity to honor this outstanding organization; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, With 37 charter members, the Greater Pflugerville |

| 9 | 10 | | Chamber of Commerce was formed in October 1985 to serve the area |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | within the Pflugerville Independent School District boundaries at |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | a time when the city's business community was just beginning to |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | grow; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Throughout the ensuing years, the Pflugerville |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | chamber has demonstrated an enduring commitment to the city's |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | quality of life, and it has been particularly active in supporting |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | public education; among other initiatives, it has helped forge a |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | strong bond between the school district and business owners, and it |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | has encouraged its members to participate in several of the |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Pflugerville Independent School District programs, including job |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | shadowing and scholarships; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, The Pflugerville chamber was the City of |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Pflugerville's original economic development agent, and it has |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | welcomed hundreds of new businesses to its market with the "Come |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | Home to Shop" campaign; and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, The chamber has partnered with the business |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | community and various organizations since its founding to keep the |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | local economy strong and independent and, in so doing, it has helped |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | a small town develop into a vibrant and progressive city; now, |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | therefore, be it |

| 30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 31 | 32 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the Pflugerville Chamber of |

| 32 | 33 | | Commerce on its 30th anniversary and extend to the organization's |

| 33 | 34 | | board of directors, staff, and member investors sincere best wishes |
