| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Lyceum is celebrating the investiture of |

| 6 | 7 | | its 2015 president, Jane Cummins, in Austin on January 22, 2015; and |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Observing its 35th anniversary in 2015, the Texas |

| 8 | 9 | | Lyceum is dedicated to the Aristotelian pursuit of free and open |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | discussion of societal concerns in order to reach a consensus for |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | shaping a successful future; the organization's 96 directors strive |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | to identify and develop the next generation of top leadership, to |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | examine the interrelationships of the major issues facing the |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | state, to foster a greater understanding of these issues among key |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | decision makers, and to promote stewardship of Texas values, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | traditions, and resources; and |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The Lyceum draws its directors from across the |

| 17 | 18 | | state; active leaders in their communities, they are committed to |

| 18 | 19 | | the betterment of Texas through the organization, which conducts |

| 19 | 20 | | public forums, publishes the Lyceum Journal, commissions the Texas |

| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, For more than three decades, the Texas Lyceum has |
