 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The untimely death of esteemed businessman and
 former football star Larry Kelm of The Woodlands on November 22,
 2014, at the age of 49, has deeply saddened his family and many
 friends; and
 WHEREAS, Born in Corpus Christi on November 29, 1964, Larry
 Kelm was a gridiron standout at King High School and was named the
 district Defensive Player of the Year as a senior; he then joined
 the football program at Texas A&M University, where he was part of
 the Aggies' famed "Wrecking Crew" defense, excelling as a
 linebacker during the 1983 through 1986 seasons; and
 WHEREAS, Drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in 1987, Mr. Kelm
 spent six years with the team; from 1990 to 1992, he started in 46
 games, and he went on to play one year with the San Francisco 49ers
 before retiring in 1993; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Kelm returned to A&M to complete his degree in
 civil engineering and later joined Environmental Improvements, a
 company that represents manufacturers in the water treatment
 industry; he ultimately entered a partnership that bought out the
 original owners, and he served as the business's president; and
 WHEREAS, Known for his generosity and the consideration he
 showed to everyone he knew, Mr. Kelm was always willing to lend a
 helping hand, and his contributions included participating in a
 12th Man Foundation delegation that made a donation to Driscoll
 Children's Hospital in Corpus Christi in 2013; in his leisure time,
 he enjoyed golf and other outdoor activities, and he relished the
 time he spent with his family, which included his wife, Lynann
 "Fidge" Kelm, and his children, Ashley and Drew Kelm; and
 WHEREAS, Larry Kelm possessed not only tremendous athletic
 ability but also a warm, sincere character that was beloved by those
 who were fortunate enough to share in the richness of his life, and
 he will forever hold a special place in their hearts; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Larry Kelm and
 extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
 wife, Lynann "Fidge" Kelm; to his daughter, Ashley; to his son,
 Drew; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Larry Kelm.
