| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Carmen Olivas Graham has served on the El Paso |

| 11 | 12 | | Community College Board of Trustees for the past five years; she has |

| 12 | 13 | | nearly three decades of experience working in Texas public schools |

| 13 | 14 | | and universities as a teacher, administrator, and parent educator; |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | in all of her work, Dr. Graham has maintained a steadfast |

| 15 | 16 | | dedication to improving the lives of people in her community and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | beyond; and |

| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, This distinguished woman received her bachelor's |

| 18 | 19 | | degree from The University of Texas at El Paso and went on to earn |

| 19 | 20 | | her master's degree from Stephen F. Austin State University before |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | completing her doctorate at New Mexico State University; recognized |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | for her exceptional skill and insight, Dr. Graham was appointed to |

| 22 | 23 | | two terms on the Texas Workforce Investment Council by Governor |

| 23 | 24 | | Rick Perry; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Carmen Olivas Graham has greatly benefited the |

| 25 | 26 | | students of El Paso Community College, and in so doing, she has |

| 26 | 27 | | garnered the lasting respect and admiration of countless people |

| 27 | 28 | | along the way; now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 29 | 30 | | Legislature hereby honor Dr. Carmen Olivas Graham for her service |
